sent Thank You e-mail after interview
1 and half-hour interview, that I thought went well happened on friday afternoon. The manager that interviewed me, who would basically be my boss, knew my former colleague and contact at the company (one of my former bosses). So that was a good thing.
I sent a Thank You e-mail (late last night, so it would be in their inbox this morning), thanking everyone for their time, and also re-stating kind of why I am the man for the job.
Should I expect any response? Could that have screwed up my chances?
The recruiter said they were interviewing a couple other people, and would have a decision this week if they were going to hire me or not.
I really, really want the job. It's a perfect way for me to get my in the door.
A separate but interesting related note:
A former co-worker at my current job, whom I thought I had a good working relationship with, completely did an about face, and got vindictive about giving me a good reference. Suffice to say I didn't include her as a reference. I couldn't risk it. She seems to hold some grudge about my work basically laying her off, despite me having no control over it. It was really odd, and she would have been a great reference, had she not been using the "emotional" part of her brain. I gave her a great reference for her, and she now has that job she got a reference from.
Makes me think twice about giving her a reference next time around.
Funny enough a manager at my previous job was also laid-off while my work had kept me on. Good times!
